Welcome Parents and Students Interested in the 2012-2013
Reflections Program!

The national PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through its 43rd annual Reflections Program. This is a national arts competition focused on the student’s artistic response to each year’s theme. This year’s theme is “The Magic Of A Moment”. Awards are given at the local, state, and national levels. Students in grades K-12 may enter as many entries as they’d like, in one or more of the six categories: Dance, Film, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.

The six Reflections categories are listed separately below. You will need to download and print an entry form for each entry you are submitting. If you choose to, you may download and print only those rules in the categories in which you are interested in participating.

This year the PTA has added an additional division-the Special Artist Division. This is a non-graded division limited to students whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet the guidelines set forth in the American Disabilities Act. You can also access those rules with the link provided below.

Optional: Interested in winning $100? If you have an idea for a theme for future Reflections competitions, you may also download, print and mail or email the “Theme Search Form” to the state PTA. The winning theme will receive a cash award. The deadline for the theme search is November 5th. The deadline for this year’s contest is November 27th.
